Why are the differences between karats?
Pure gold is 24 Karats – Meaning it is 100% pure gold. 18K gold has a 75% purity level, 14K has a 58.3% purity level, and 10K has a 41.7% purity level. You would think 10K would be the less desirable, however that is not always correct as 10K is not as “soft” as higher karats, therefore making it more durable.
